Background

Mutlu Koca received his B.S. degrees in electrical engineering and physics from Boğazii University in 1996, and his M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and applied mathematics from the The University of California at Davis (UC-Davis) in 2000. In 2001, he received his Ph.D. degree also from UC-Davis with a dissertation on turbo space-time equalization for broadband wireless systems.

Between 1998-2001, he worked as a lecturer at the Department of Electrical and
Computer Engineering of UC-Davis and taught courses on electric circuits,
electronics, and signals and systems. He also served as a post-doctoral
researcher in the same department between September and December 2001.
 During
2002, he was a member of the technical staff at Flarion Technologies, NJ,
USA. Between 2003-2004,
he was a research fellow at the Institut de Recherche en Informatique et
Systmes AlŽatoires (IRISA), in Rennes, France, before joining Bogazici
University as a faculty member in 2004.
In 2005, with Prof. Deli, Dr. Koca established the Wireless Communications Laboratory within the EE Department and in 2006, he coordinated the efforts to develop a Wireless Communications and Networking Curriculum and to establish a Wireless Competency Laboratory funded by Intel.
